VCF Filterbank

Soundfreak Synthesizer Module

The Soundfreak Voltage Controlled Fixed Filterbank is an array of ten parallel bandpass filter tuned in

octaves, from 31 Hz to 16 KHz. While the filters’ frequency is fixed, their amplitude is controllable via

volume knobs and control voltage.

It is based on the design of the Buchla 195 Octave Format Filter, and it is aimed at reproducing its

unique sound as much faithfully as possible. However, unlike its glorious predecessor, the Soundfreak

Voltage Controlled Fixed Filterbank has a built-in mixer that allows you to sum all the bands and

control their volume individually, pretty much like one usually did with the Buchla 107 Voltage

Controlled Mixer.

It can thus be seen as a voltage-controllable 185, or a sum of Buchla 185 and 107 in one module.

Ring Modulator

By combining and subtracting two input signals, this module produces complex, enharmonic textures. An essential tool for crafting rich, experimental sounds.
